Joanna Trussel Berg

Founder and Executive Director

Unbridled Hope was founded by Joanna Trussel Berg in 2019, 5 years after she returned to her hometown and seeing the need for the unique treatment that Equine Psychotherapy can provide to the community of South East Idaho. Upon obtaining the 510C3 Organization status Unbridled Hope has provided services in Idaho Falls at three separate private arenas. These locations were short-lived due to the difficulty of providing mental health services in public arenas and the limits of growth. In 2023 Unbridled Hope was granted the necessary Conditional Use Permit by Jefferson County to build and provide our services on a private farm just outside of Rigby. This has been the beginning of what we are hoping the community will join us in providing continued year-round Equine Assisted Professional Services.

With 2023 providing a wonderful long-term location and installing an outdoor arena we have been limited to safe weather for the best interest of our clients and equines.

We look forward to collaborating with the community and raising the funds for an indoor arena, septic, sewer and fencing in order to provide services year-round. If you can assist us in reaching this goal please consider a donation or contact us to help with a fund raising event.

THE HORSE HERD

ROMEO

Romeo was donated to Unbridled Hope in 2019. He is very well-trained and performed in a Mexican Circus where he also was in a barn fire causing permanent burn scars. He does need regular salve put on to protect them from sunburns and the elements. He also wears a UV sun protection blanket in the sunny months to keep them from burning.
